Panama City drizzles and full moon make for a tough day.

Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report

I heard over the weekend that a bunch of guides had a tough time fishing. As I slid the boat into the water this morning I had a plan and hoped that the weather and moon would not effect us.
As I welcomed Trina and Eric (Barry) onto the boat this morning I predicted no rain. What fell from the sky non stop from 0830 to 1030 was a steady drizzle, so in a manner of speaking; no rain.
We hit a couple of combo trout, red and grouper holes with a couple of just short grouper coming into the boat, no keepers. We managed a few decent trout and some good spanish mixed in with some bluefish. The reds, in the part of the bay I fished today, were no where to be found. There are plenty of reds to catch I just haven't been on the the last couple of trips. We had a good day but not a great one.
The moon will be waning the next ten days or so. I predict some big things on the new moon coming up in a few weeks. The days are getting shorter and the water is cooling. This should make the fishing extremely good toward the middle to end of this month. The drizzle was pretty steady which gave me only one chance for a photo. I wish I would have photographed some of those pretty grouper that were caught on #8 P-Line.

Panama City Fishing Forecast:

Fishing is good some days better than others.
Lots of fish in the bay and offshore.
The flounder bite should start picking up toward the end of the month.

Target Species:

Fishing is great right now everything is biting.

More Fishing Reports:

Sight casting fly and spinning for reds, trout, bonita, spanish, jacks and many other species. Live bait trips available as well as hot topwater action in the bay around Panama City, Florida. Depending on the time of the year I can normally put you on legal grouper in the bay, monster speckled trout, lot's of fly fishing action and just about everything else that swims and good tablefare.
