Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report

Well the seas finally calmed down and let us get offshore. We started the morning off with a quick run to the baitman for a scoop of pinfish then headed out of the pass. We got to the first spot and tried dropping down a few jigs. The first jig didn't even make it 30 ft down and it was slammed by a big Amberjack! Unfortunately that one could not be stopped. We followed that with a large pinfish and was rewarded with a big Amberjack that was boated after a 30 minute battle.

It was nonstop action after that. We caught Grouper, Snapper, Amberjack, and Banded Rudderfish for the next 4 hours. The fish were hitting jigs and live bait, I didn't matter what you dropped down. My anglers took home a few fish for the grill and released the rest. We seem to be having a warming trend and that will only make fishing get better! I even saw a couple cobia under a turtle today. The fishing is great right now so get down here and let's go fishing.

Good luck on the water,
Capt. Todd Jones
