Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report

The flats are still in good shape even with the water still being a little stained from all the rain we had a couple months ago. The water is really starting to clear up and cool down. The reds are starting to get on their open flats pattern as the water winter low water levels start to push in. This will make the reds easier to find on the flats but they will be a bit more spooky. Lite line and long cast will normally solve this problem. The trout are starting to move closer and closer to their winter hold-ups in the creeks and bayous, but there are still plenty out on the flats.
In the bay the bite is still as good as ever. Live bait will normally get you a mixed bag of anything from keeper size Grouper to Spanish, Jacks, Reds and more. Clear leaders and live bait on a free line have been working best for me. Here are some pictures of this weeks action.

Nice Grouper!

Bull shark made quick work of this Jack!

As always, good luck on in the woods and on the water.
