Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report

Tom Chandler, from Huntsville, came down to fish with me today. We headed to East Bay again because the fishing was so good there yesterday.
Putting my knowledge of the bay and skills to the test we hit some early morning spots immediately putting fat keeper trout in the box. We fished DOA and Gulp! on and off of popping corks. The wind was actually not to bad and the water clearing. We caught a lot of trout, many keepers and some reds. Here are the highlights.

Having fished this bay since I was a mere child my knowledge of the area is unmatched in the guide business. Yes, the water clarity has put a damper on things but we pressed on until we figured out where and how. The fishing in East Bay is super hot. Big fish will bite and there are plenty of reds to catch.
St. Andrew Bay around the pass and back to Major Wood point to the NW and Davis Point to the NE had clear green water today. The bay is flushing well, not as well as it would if the old pass was open, but well just the same. I figure a week to ten days the brown water will be no more than a bad memory.
All I can say is keep chunkin' lures and fishing because there are plenty to catch and will continue to get better.
Panama City Fishing Forecast:

Trout on the flats in East and West Bays. Spanish and other migratory species around the pass as the water clears up should get better. Reds are nudging up in the grass.
We have been seeing some jacks in the bay.
Target Species:

Trout on the flats, sight fishing for reds, jacks, pompano and spanish.
