Panama City Summer variety pack...you pick 'em.

Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report

I love this time of the year because there is so many different things you can do. If you want trout and reds we can go there, if you want sharks we can do that, if you want a lot of action we can do that also. Today was an action day.

We spent most of the morning on the Middle Grounds with a chum line. I had my number one client on the boat, Ray Mallory, with a guest, Armand. Armand is new to fishing but took to like a five year old on a bag of M&M's. Here he is with a nice 5lb. spanish.

Later, Armand, managed his first flounder:

The bite was good. Spanish, blues, skipjack and blue runners. The bite was almost non stop. We kept a few spanish releasing everything else.

Like I said in my opening we can do lot's of different things this time of year. If it's trout and reds you want (check out some of my prior reports) I can put you on them like no other guide in the area. I'm not talking about little 17 and 18 inch trout, I'm talking the big boys that go well over 6 pounds. Reds have been pretty easy to find this year also. If you want non stop action, chumming like we did this morning, is the ticket. If you book me for a six hour, we will have time to do both.

The king bite offshore is good and a day like today would have been a good day to go. We had several over 25lbs. last year and expect the same this year.

Read my reports and look at the pictures, I challenge you to find anyone in the area that is doing as well as I.

Panama City Fishing Forecast:

Trout and reds on the flats and shallows, spanish, blues and other palegics on the ledges.
Plenty of sharks this year. We have been floating shark baits just about every day.

Target Species:

Everything

More Fishing Reports:

Sight casting fly and spinning for reds, trout, bonita, spanish, jacks and many other species. Live bait trips available as well as hot topwater action in the bay around Panama City, Florida. Depending on the time of the year I can normally put you on legal grouper in the bay, monster speckled trout, lot's of fly fishing action and just about everything else that swims and good tablefare.
