Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report

I know it has been several weeks since my last report, but this has been my busiest season yet. I have been running 2 trips a day for the last month. So I just have not had the time. With that being said the fishing has been great! Inshore we are catching Trout, Reds, Blues, Ladyfish, Grouper, Spanish and King Mackerel. We even managed to catch an 8 ft Hammerhead in the bay the other afternoon. Here lately the afternoon fishing has been just as good if not better than the morning. So if you have small children or just don't want to get up early on your vacation you can still get some great fishing in.

Offshore the Snapper fishing has been incredible! We usually get our limit of Red Snapper in just a few drops. From there we start catching Vermillion and White Snapper as well as Grouper, Kings, Bonito, and the occasional Cobia. I have not made it out in the Gulf since the Gag Grouper season opened. But with all the ones we have been releasing the last month I am sure we will catch them as soon as the seas calm down.

Most of my July is booked right now as well as about 10 days in August so if you would like to fish with me please give me a call as soon as you have a date you can go. The fishing is great and should only get better as the summer goes on.
Good luck on the water,
Capt. Todd Jones
