Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report

This past week we have seen some fantastic light tackle offshore fishing. All the King Mackerel and Amberjack you could handle.

We also managed to catch a couple Black Fin Tuna…to be perfectly honest we hooked, fought, got to within 10ft of the boat then a very large Bull Shark decided he wanted them more than we did. I got the head back from the first one. But the second one we got the Shark.

True to form opening day of Red Snapper season was…RUFF! I sure am glad I own a quality Center Console for days like these. Myself and Capt. Justin decided to wait and leave in the late afternoon on opening day to let the crowds and the seas improve. It paid off well for us. I think we only saw 2 other boats the whole time. The Snapper fishing was awesome! We had our limit in only a few drops to the bottom, along with a big Scamp. We finished with a few Kings and headed to the fish house. We were able to get out on Sunday morning and catch our limit of Snapper and Kings.

The next few days were spent in the bay catching Trout, Spanish, Blues, and Redfish. The seas are starting to subside so I should be Snapper fishing for the next few days.
Be safe on the water.
