Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report

Panama City, Northwest Florida
After a 57/four day redfish binge things are only getting better. For those of you that don't know it 57 redfish in four half day guide trips is phenominal around here. Some where caught on live bait, some on artificial
and some on the fly. Add to that total; black drum, blues, spanish, flounder and some big speckled trout and you have the recipe for a great trip. We are catching many of our trout and reds on "Exude" Slimy Slug
which can be purchased in my store. As always, DOA Shrimp are also putting fish in the boat. On the fly we have caught many fish on fleeing crab and shrimp patterns, I personally landed a 28 inch/15 pound black
drum with a shrimp pattern and a 10 wt. recently. Trout have been big this year, many over five pounds caught on our guide trips and coming into the store for photos. After the reds and trout slow down it's off to the
shallow shoals to catch spanish and blues on topwater like tiny torpedoes. Flounder are moving into the bay along with black snapper.
Offshore the snapper and grouper are still kicken' but with the kings starting to show up. We had a 30 pound black fin tuna come by the store a few days ago caught on a live pinfish while grouper fishing.
Overall fishing is really good. Come by the store and tell a lie or bring a picture. Always keep what you need and let the rest go for another day.
