Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report

Panama City, N.W. Florida
Every thing is coming together.
Lets start with offshore first. Cobia are gone but there are still some pompano along the beach. The wrecks are holding a lot of fish. Everyday I here about big catches of grouper and snapper. Some of the guys are "jigging" for them some being caught on live bait or dead bait. Lots of AJ's out there also. Heard about some dolphin about 12 miles out ready to hit flies. Going offshore is not a bad thing right now. If you need someone to take you fishing call the shop and we can recomend a good captain to take you offshore.
In the bay--well--we caught 15 reds today on artificial. Caught some trout also. Both have been anxouis to eat a bait put in front of them, we litterally had to beat the reds back. Out in the big water of the bays, lots of fun to have with blues, ladyfish, blue runners and spanish. The black snappers have started moving into the bay along with the flounder. The next 4 week should be some of the best fishing of the year. Take a trip now if you can. If you have your own boat, come by the shop and we will show you the "hot baits".
Tight Lines, JP
