Florida Fishing Report for Panama City & Destin

Capt. James Pic
December 6, 2004
Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report

Panama City/North Florida

Well, winter has set in. Anyone looking for a guided duck hunt give me a call. Also we have been taking some big Canada Geese on Seminole/

Everything is moving south and what is not is in the hot water canal, the boyous or the creeks. We did manage to catch a bunch of blues, spanish and jacks last weekend on the fly and spinning gear. They are probably the last of the hold outs until the water starts to warm up in the spring.

In the hot water canal we caught reds, trout, jacks and ladyfish. All on the fly or artificial. Easy to catch just make sure you watch the tide.

I'm going to be guiding 100% next year. Start running tarpon trips again along with big (30pounds plu) jacks like I did many years ago. Not having a store is going to free me up. I expect the redfish to be awesome in '05, seems to get better every year.

More Fishing Reports:

Sight casting fly and spinning for reds, trout, bonita, spanish, jacks and many other species. Live bait trips available as well as hot topwater action in the bay around Panama City, Florida. Depending on the time of the year I can normally put you on legal grouper in the bay, monster speckled trout, lot's of fly fishing action and just about everything else that swims and good tablefare.
