Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report
Panama City/NW Florida
Some reds are on the inshore wrecks along with big snapper. Catch and release but a lot of fun. There are a lot of fish in Warren Bayou, also catch and release, a lot of fun.
In the creeks and bayous; trout, reds and flounder can be taken with live shrimp and slow fished soft plastics. A few flounder are still being picked up.
Sand trout, whiting and black sea bass are being caught around the bridges and deep holes in the bay.
I will have a cobia tower on my boat this year rigged up for the fly fisherman. If you want to spend a day looking for cobia give me a call, I'll be set up for it. Normally they start showing up the last week of March and continue through the end of April.
DUCK HUNTING
Been taking a lot of ducks on the bay. Bluebills and redheads along with other divers and a few puddlers here and there. Season ends on January 29th and the hunting should be good through the end of season. Seems like there are more and more birds everyday. Most of my weekends are booked but I can work a single hunter in on the weekends most of the time. I have a lot of weekdays open. If you don't like Bay ducks I can take you up to the lake where we have been have decent success with woodies, ringers, bluebills, redheads and a mixed bag of puddle ducks.
Sight casting fly and spinning for reds, trout, bonita, spanish, jacks and many other species. Live bait trips available as well as hot topwater action in the bay around Panama City, Florida.
Depending on the time of the year I can normally put you on legal grouper in the bay, monster speckled trout, lot's of fly fishing action and just about everything else that swims and good tablefare.
