Florida Fishing Report for Panama City & Destin

Capt. James Pic
September 30, 2007
Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report

Panama City,NW Florida

1/2 AND 1/2 SPECIAL..BOOK HALF DAY AT REGULAR PRICE GET THE NEXT DAY FOR HALF PRICE. GOOD THRU 03/15/98

Fishing has been good lately. I ran every day for the last week and depending on the needs of the customer I, like always, customized the trip. Richard Dunston and his lovely wife, Darlene, spent a couple of days on the boat fishing for flounder and such. These two flounder were taken over to the Captains Table Restaraunt for a "hook and cook" at the end of the trip.

Charlie Roberts came to town for some redfish fishing, standing proud, with a five pound fish caught on a DOA Shrimp, a light rod and six pound test. We also stopped one day and fished for spanish boiling in the bay, migrating in with the full moon. The spanish have finally arrived in big numbers and can be caught any of several ways. Boiling fish on bubble rigs and deeper fish on Gotcha's! Along with the spanish are big blues and ladies. This is the time of year for fun whether conventional tackle or on the fly.

The best part of hiring me is my 37 years plus of fishing these waters. Unlike some, I can do more than just reds and trout. Oppurtunity my knock in the way of the fall flounder migration or six pound spanish macks on light line or fly. There are many days when I take clients fishing for reds and trout early and then finish the day off with a flurry of hard hitting and hard fighting palegics

DUCK HUNTING

I was only able to duck hunt two days of the early teal season due to fishing trips. If the early season is any indication of the rest of the year it should be as good or better than the last five years. We knocked down seve birds on Saturday and our limit of 12 on Sunday. Lot's of teal moved thru this year, we are still seing them.

The best fishing of the year is now. Book your trip with the most diverse guide on the water. As always, stay away from the new guys and part timers. Thanks for all the business, new and old, I'm way up this year because of you.

May all of you have a great fall and holiday season.
