Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report

Ever have one of those days that you look back on and think you should have just rolled over and went back to sleep when the alarm went off? Today was one of those days. The bright spot was I had three great guys from the mid west, Bernie, Tim and Mike, that caught some good fish.
We left the dock with an east wind blowing around ten but by nine it was howling ESE around 20 knots. We had a hard time keeping our baits on the bottom for sheeps and reds but managed a few. Take a look:

I decided to head to some black drum and redfish holes up in the bay. Trolling for spanish was the best way to go since it was so rough. As we eased across the bay we managed to put some nice spanish in the boat. I gave the motor a little juice and could hear the hub on the prop start spinning. We limped home in some rough water but made it all the same. Thanks guys for your patience and help.

Rough day:

The spanish are definitely here and with the heavy South East wind of the next few days you can bet the run will be full throttle by the weekend. Cobia should be coming around also.
Panama City Fishing Forecast:

This wind will bring a lot of bait into the bay. Followind on the heels of the bait will be spanish, blues and cobia. You can look for the next few weeks to be hot.
Target Species:

Cobia, sheeps and reds in the pass...spanish and trout.
