Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report

We were able to get out for an afternoon trip on Friday despite the cold weather. We spent the day trolling for Spanish in the bay. This is a fast paced type of fishing when they are biting... and they were certainly biting.
We trolled 3 light spinning lines with Gold Clark spoons and were rewarded with double and triple hook ups! The center line was trolled way back with no weight and a 3 foot 30# mono leader, the other two lines had a 1 oz. egg sinker in front of a small swivel with a 10 ft. 30# mono leader to the gold spoon.
After trying several sizes I found that a #1 gold Clark spoon with a red bead is what they wanted. We ended the day with over 50 Spanish Mackerel. Sorry, no new pictures this trip as I forgot the camera so I included some from the last trip.

Be safe on the water,
Capt. Todd Jones
