Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report

Where to start? First, we have caught more undersized spanish this year than I can remember for a long time. Funny thing, mixed in, are some of the size we catch in the summer. This year you absolutely don't know what size fish your going to pull out of the school when you cast into it. The spanish run has been a hoot for the fly fishermen along with the spinners.
Then theres the redfish bite....since the first part of March I guess we have probably caught well over 100 reds. One rough day we sat on a spot and caught 30. Don't worry, those fish are still there, I'm the only one that knows about them.
Trout bite has turned on the last few days, of course that will only get better as the weather warms.
Off the beach the cobia run has been a trickle but should be in full swing the next week to ten days and last till the end of the month. If we have anything like the run last year, fishing should be on fire.
All in all, fishing is good. Been a little lazy with the camera this year, promise to step it up. Guess I'm getting old..lol.
The new boat is great and roomy so come on, let's go fishing.

Panama City Fishing Forecast:

Spanish and blues in the bay on artificial. Cobia should be hot any time.
Reds been hot all spring and should continue.
Target Species:

Spring bite is definitely on!
