Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report

Took some guys from Elba Alabama today. The wind came on pretty strong by 0900 but we managed to get some trout into the boat. I took my own advice and drifted several good flats in West Bay using popping corks and DOA shrimp. We had a lot of action and caught some good keeper fish. Unfortunately I left the camera in the truck this morning. I know you all have seen photo's of trout so it's no big deal.
With the conditions lately I believe the best way to catch trout right now is drifting the flats with artificials covering as much area as possible. When you hit an area with some fish drift it a couple of times, you should pick up a keeper or two. Make sure you work your popping cork and DOA slow, they seem to want it closer to the bottom. Most of the fish we are catching are in three feet of water or less.
After the trout fishing we trolled for spanish for a little while picking up a few. There are some coming into the bay with the flush. The water around the pass is clearing with each day and getting back to normal.
Reds have been a little tough to find with the water conditions and the full moon. All should be back to normal by mid week.
Panama City Fishing Forecast:

Trout and reds on the flats getting better as the water warms. Spanish are finally coming into the bay, some are very nice in size.
Pompano should pick up along the beach if the water continues to clear.
Target Species:

Specs, reds, spanish, pompano and cobia.
