Warmer Weather and Hot Fishing Action in Panama City Florida

Capt. Rob Womble
May 31, 2011
Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report

Capt. Todd has been wearing the fish out over the last week or two. He has been catching everything from King to Trout. His new boat with tower is nicely suited for flats or near shore and that type of versatility has unlocked allot of fishing holes that we have been taking advantage of. Now with the addition of his tower boat and the skinny water flats boats we have.....well we can take our customers just about anywhere along the cost and inland.

The trout have been crushing the topwater plugs. As the sun comes up and the surface action slows a little, we have been switching up to a suspending bait and working it slow just above the grass bottom.

For the redfish.....well they have been eating everything from spoons, to Pompano jigs. Yes we got into a group of reds while fishing the surf for pompano.

The outside (near shore) has been producing everything from Spanish to King to Pompano and more. Go out rigged with jigs and spoons but be ready to throw a topwater on when the Jacks start crushing bait along the beach. That is a blast.

As always be safe on the water.
