Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report

Amy and Keith Tate showed up this morning bright and early this morning expecting to go king fishing for a little while before moving into the bay for other species. Unfortunately the wind blew all night making it a little rough offshore. We stayed in bay with some good luck.
Hit an early trout spot. Put a few in the boat and missed some good fish. Nearby was one of my "in the bay" grouper holes. We landed a few shorts, hooked one or two that I believe would have measured but broke off after being able to get back into their hole. We put a lot of legal grouper in the boat every summer. Catching them in the bay on light tackle in shallow water. We also hit a black (mangrove) snapper spot for the first time this year putting one in the boat and losing several others. We had one tht would have gond six or more pounds follow a hooked fish up to the boat. There are some big black snappers in the bay this year.

After those spots we hit the Middle Grounds for the screaming spanish and blues. We put a bunch in the boat as always and the action was good.

Panama City Fishing Forecast:

Specs and reds on the flats for early morning action.
Spanish and blues on the ledges.
Grouper and black snappers in the bay in good numbers through the end of the summer.
King bite is good offshore.
Target Species:

All the players are here. All species are available.
