Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report

Well, winter is in full force in Panama City Beach, but the fishing is still hot!!! Even though we have been stuck in the bay lately, due to high winds and cold temperatures, the redfish have managed to keep us plenty busy.

We are catching lots of over slot redfish, but we are still getting a few keepers for the fryer.

I have heard good reports of trout being caught in the canals, but I have not been in there to check it out for myself.
The few times we have managed to slip offshore, the bite has been excellent!!! We are catching lots of Amberjacks on the jigs and we have even managed to pick up a few gag grouper and some scamp grouper while jigging.

The bottom fishing has been really good, with lot's of small to medium red snapper, Vermillion snapper, white snapper, triggerfish and several species of porgies being caught. But the highlight of most trips have been the amberjack's.

These hard fighting fish will make your back hurt and your arms ache and the constant action will keep you busy. So if you don't mind bundling up for the cold ride out, it is well worth it!!! Thanks for reading my report and I look forward to seeing you on the water. As always tight lines.
Tight Lines,
Captain Scott
