Bull Reds O'Plenty - Pensacola Fishing Charters

Capt. John Rivers
December 2, 2015
Pensacola - Saltwater Fishing Report

November is in the books. It started out very warm and then it went to crazy windy conditions. The first two weeks were tough, but the last two weeks were off the chain. More big bull reds then we could count some days. No exaggeration here; it was very good fishing.

We finally had a few cold fronts that dropped the water temp to where it needed to be and then it was game on. I ran a lot this November, met some new clients and had a lot of repeats, which is always great to reconnect. I'm still tossing Spro 1.5oz jigs, using 7 and 8 foot Medium Heavy Rods matched up with brand new Stradic 5000 reels. I use two different rods on my trips, Wright McGill's and four new Crowder rods I got last year for this year's redfish run. I'm happy to say that all these rods have performed perfectly.

It looks like the start to December is going to be a good one, but I don't want to jinx it so I'll keep my fingers crossed while I type this. LOL, It's been in the lower 70's the past few days, and it's been awesome to chase these fish around the bay in short sleeves.

We just had a full moon and that switched the bite from late afternoon to them feeding at night into the late morning and then it switched off. Just the past two days, it's been very good both morning and afternoon. Starting on Wednesday we're going in to a neap tide, which might slow the bite down some, but I think we'll still catch a good amount. I'm not booked as much as I was in November, so if you're looking to have some serious fun with these monster reds, December has some openings.
I would like to have you jump aboard the Triton for a fun exciting day of fishing, and show you all our fishery has to offer.

Till the next adventure,
John

If you're on Facebook, check out my fan page, and you can keep up with me while I'm on the water and see what's going on each day. I post more often on there than I do on my fishing reports page. https://www.facebook.com/megabiteinshore?ref=hl

With the multiple fish pics, I have each angler keep their fish in the water until all fish are boat side. I quickly get each fish in the boat, position everyone and snap a few pics and then release the fish back in the water. Doing it this way ensures the fish are not out of the water for any length of time. I take pride to make certain that no harm comes to these big reds and that all swim off unharmed.

Tight Lines… John
