Pensacola - Saltwater Fishing Report

Golden Pumpkins surfing the waves:
Winds 15 – 20, cloudy conditions, but hey if you want to go red fishing, then sometimes you just have to go. I knew it was going to be a little bumpy, but not till around noon. As I launched the boat and saw the white caps, I knew it was going to be choppy in the bay. We hit the first spot, no luck, went to the pass and it was just way too rough, tried to fish a bit for some big Bonita schools, but it was just too bumpy, so we headed back to spot C. As I showed up I saw only one boat that looked like they had just arrived. The conditions were a little better there as we had some cover from the wind.

Spot C turned out to be a good choice, because the reds were there and it was game on for a good hour and a half. My clients Jim and his son Aaron had fun battling these monsters on light tackle.

After Jim had hooked two he pulled out a sandwich and wolfed it down fast for energy to go after more reds. Aaron said, "I'll eat after the trip." and continued to hook reds. He was all smiles landing red after red. I really like the golden color of fall reds; golden pumpkins surfing the waves.
Tight lines.
