Pensacola - Saltwater Fishing Report
Fish on! I've been hearing a lot of that the past 10 days. Our fishery is so diverse; I can be on the flats in minutes fishing for trout and redfish or head to deeper waters of Pensacola Pass fishing for red snapper, redfish, and much more.
Mary and Stephanie had fun reeling in these two monster reds.

If the gulf is calm and you want a near shore trip, it's not that far to one of our many reefs just off our coast. The past few trips I've been both inshore hitting my redfish and snapper holes and offshore hitting some of my special honey holes for snapper.

We had crazy weather a few days back with over 20 inches of rain in one day on Saturday the 9th. The news said it hadn't rained that much in one day since 1934. It also rained a bunch a Sunday and Monday, and with all that rain over a three-day period, I was very concerned it might hurt the fishing. But our fishery has weathered storms before, and this time the fish didn't mind one bit.
The redfish bite is still going strong in Pensacola Bay.
The redfish bite in the pass has been red hot. We've hooked some monster reds and even a few decent red snapper. The snapper bite in our bay has also been outstanding with some really big fish being hooked up. The nice thing about these bay spots is that if the gulf is too rough to go out, then we can hit some of the bay spots and still bring home supper.
James is a fan of Cyber Angler and came down with his father-in-law to fish with me, and had a great trip. They got their limit and Mike hooked up on a big one, a 16 lb bigun.
As soon as red snapper season is over on July 10th, I'll be hitting the flats again with artificials for trout and redfish.
As you can see, our fishery here in NW Florida has so much to offer that you just might have to come back a few times to experience all the different styles of fishing.
