Pensacola - Saltwater Fishing Report

I've been back on the flats the past two weeks and it's been totally awesome!
My clients have yelled out "Fish on!" more times than I can count, and to be honest, that's music to my ears! I've put my snapper fishing on hold till next year; I pulled out the inshore tackle bag filled with tons of artificials from hard baits to soft-plastics.
Beau and Phil show us what a double hook up is like!

The great thing about fishing our area is the diversity of our waters, from its deep water pass, large open bay, and miles of flats that hold thousands of trout and redfish, with bluefish, skipjacks and much more.

Our flats for the most part are crystal clear unless you're fishing the upper bays areas of Escambia and Blackwater Bay; these areas are kind of murky at times and when we get a lot of rain it can be very muddy. When fishing both areas, I'm fishing depths from 6 ft to as little as 1ft of water; this is where we find the most action.

Many of my clients are avid bass fishermen, and with my extensive bass fishing background I can relate to many of my inshore clients from up north, and they certainly enjoy the various species we can go after in our fishery using techniques that are familiar to them.

Kade shows off a nice speck.

On some of my latest fishing adventures I've been fishing early mornings, but when the weather allows for some late afternoon trips / evening trips, we head over to the flats before the sun goes down before we hit the bridge lights for reds and trout. Each trip is very unique with different styles of fishing, but each time it's all artificials.

At Mega-Bite Inshore Charters I take the time to provide proper instruction on how to use the tackle and how to use the lures we will be using that day. I always try to provide a fun day of fishing and catching, and if you're never fished saltwater or you just can't get enough, give me a ring and I'll show you some proven techniques to get some fish in the boat and create some great memories.
Thanks for stopping by; become a fan of my face book page and tell your buddies about my site.
