Bryce Teaching his Dad

Pine Island Sound - Saltwater Fishing Report

Matt and his son Bryce met me at the dock at 9 A.M. With bait already in the livewell we headed out for snook. The bite was slower than expected but it was worth the short wait. Matts drag took off and being a good Father handed it to his son Bryce. He had a good fight with his first ever snook hitting the ruler at 30". Bryce and Matt boated another snook and a decent trout. The bite stoped and we took off for some hungry fish. A couple more snook, two small reds along with a 20" trout and a couple underslot trout. We power poled up and headed for some trees for better fish. Bryce told me he didnt think there were any fish around so I chucked a handfull of bait out to get the bite started. It wasnt long when a big snook hammerd a free swimming shiner. I put a fresh bait on Bryces hook and made the cast for him and it was Snook against 7 year old Bryce. Bryce did a great job getting his second nice snook of the day to the net. It was a 29 1/2 inch snook this time. It was Great to see the big smile on Bryces face after the pictures. Thanks Matt and Bryce for a great day. You guys are good sports.
