High Barometric Fishing

Capt. John GiddyUp-Bunch
March 21, 2011
Pine Island Sound - Saltwater Fishing Report

In all my days, never have I seen so many consistent readings in the high 30.19+ Other things have been strange as well. About one 10 days ago water temps were 77. After 4 days of very low night temps, back to 65 it went. Full Moon. Almost like a perfect storm for LockJaw. Before you lose your mind and say "Hey GiddyUp, I thought you liked FULL MOON TIDES." I love FULL MOONS on the condition it is cloudy (if it is cloudy big fish cannot see little fish as easily)

Onward! There are tons of small trout. I've notice a few tarpon in the shallows. Redfish? I'm really having trouble. Why? It is one thing not to catch them but WTF when I get on my tower and don't SEE FISH ON THE OYSTERS BARS OR MANGROVES.

My charter tomorrow will tell the story. Ladyfish first then my favorite redfish bar. I'll have crabs, ladyfish, and pinfish. Chum is going to be everywhere and hopefully this will be the magic formula.

Remember: Guides who are a member of the Florida Guides Assn must show Proof of Ins, a Valid Capt's License, and valid/current +200.00 FWC fishing License. DON'T fish with ROGUE GUIDES! Pay the extra money and fish with peace of mind. ASK TO SEE PROOF OF INS. After all, it's your anus. "GiddyUp"

Pine Island Sound Fishing Forecast:

We need a low pressure front badly. If we get it, you will need a helmut out there.
