Pine Island Sound - Saltwater Fishing Report

We are getting a regular dose of high preasure and east winds with little cold in the future. A combination of air temps in the 70s and cool water have made the bite slow at times. The bigger trout are leaving the shallow potholes and are moving into 4-6 ft. of water. Soft baits on a jighead do the trick. There are still small schools of bigger reds on the shallow bars with a few big trout mixed in. Cut ladyfish and a lot of patience are best bets. On the days when the wind is light there are schools of small silversides showing up on the breaks of the flats, this tells me the bait is on its way back. The few people I have talked to that caught bait said they did not get the results they should have from them. There are a lot of snook laying around just waiting to eat.
