A very wet late summer Pattern

Capt. Gary Clark

Pine Island Sound - Saltwater Fishing Report

Fishing report for the week ending 8/29/2010

After three days of steady downpours to begin the week every afternoon has had stronger than normal rainfall amounts. This gives us a huge amount of runoff of fresh water making salinity levels very low all threw the bay system. Fishing around the passes and near the beaches has been good for trout and mackerel. Free lining live shinners and heavy chumming works best. There are still plenty of small sharks mostly blacktips also in the bay. Snook and redfish have been on the slow side with some very low tides in the mornings not helping. There have been some reports of and I have seen some Tarpon on the beaches. Pine Island sound is still giving up some nice lemon sharks on the lower tides

Target Species:

snook redfish trout mackerel sharks
