South Indian River Fishing Report

Port St. Lucie - Saltwater Fishing Report

South Indian River Fishing Report 11/5

Inshore:

November has started out with some beautiful fall weather conditions. Sunshine and mild temperatures have been welcome to the anglers on the Treasure Coast! After the hot summer months, it's been a welcome change. Water temps have been in the mid to high 70's and that has been good for fishing. There has been lots of baitfish around the area and the fish have been enjoying an easy meal on them. It has been another exciting week on the water.

Ron, Kip and Melissa were out with me on a gorgeous fall morning. The jacks were cruising the river and we had fun battling some nice size fish. We hit some docks and found snapper and sheepshead biting. Ron hooked into a nice 26" redfish while fishing the docks. We ended up catching lots of mutton snapper and grouper in the channel to top off an exciting morning. Don, Art and Sherman were back out for another adventure. Don and Art each landed a slot redfish from the mangroves. Sherman hooked up on a slot size snook that just wasn't going to be landed and broke off at the boat. The guys caught lots of snapper, grouper, ladyfish and jacks to finish off a nice day on the water. Paul and Robin found lots of snapper, ladyfish and jacks on a challenging windy day. It was a nice week to enjoy the water!

Look for trout on the grass flats in two to four feet of water. DOA shrimp is the best choice for trout fishing. Redfish have continued to hang around docks and mangroves and can be caught on CAL paddle tails and live or cut bait. Snook have been hanging around bridges, docks and the jetties. Lots of big fish have come from the jetties this week. There have been jacks and ladyfish all over the river feeding on the glass minnows. Look for some Spanish mackerel in the mix as well. Docks are holding snapper, sheepshead and redfish. Don't forget to use those top water lures early and late in the day for some explosive action. November is always a great month to enjoy the fishing! Enjoy fishing the Treasure Coast this month.

As always, remember, fishing is not just another hobby....it's an ADVENTURE!!

Good Fishing and Be Safe,
Captain Charlie Conner
