South Indian River Fishing Report

Capt. Charlie Conner
April 19, 2018
Port St. Lucie - Saltwater Fishing Report

South Indian River Fishing Report 4/19

Inshore:

It appears the rainy season has arrived on the Treasure Coast. It has been very dry this winter and the rains are a welcome sight for us. It means that you need to watch the weather and plan your fishing adventures accordingly. The creeks and rivers will be pouring into the Indian and St Lucie rivers bringing dirty water into the area. Fishing the high parts of the tides will give you the best water each day. Temperatures are getting warmer and I am happy with that! After the March we endured, I won't complain at all!

Snook fishing has been good around the area the past few weeks. The last of the incoming and first of the outgoing tides have provided us with the best bite. It's a great time of year to use top water lures like the DOA PT-7 or your favorite lure for both snook and trout. Switch to the DOA Deadly Combo once the sun is high. We are still catching our redfish around the docks both north and south of Fort Pierce. There are some nice snapper around the river now.

Al, Kiera, Jake and Kevin found the sheepshead and jacks biting on their recent adventure. The Welch family also caught sheepshead and other species for a fun day. Dave and Matt caught jacks and a nice redfish to top off the day. Mel and Duane found the snook bite good, but couldn't find a slot fish to keep. John, Brendon and Collin also found a good snook bite. John caught a nice keeper cubera snapper as well. Bob and Jack also found a good snook bite that found several near slot fish. It was an awesome time on the water!

As always, remember, fishing is not just another hobby....it's an ADVENTURE!!

Good Fishing and Be Safe,
Captain Charlie Conner
