Sanibel Island Fishing

Capt. Greg Hood
November 5, 2013
Sanibel - Saltwater Fishing Report

Sanibel island fishing
We're moving into to the fall pattern here at Sanibel island.
Cold fronts already have cooled the water temperatures. That's great news for the grouper fishing!
As the water gets cooler here around Sanibel the grouper fishing will get better, and this year it's open until Dec.3rd.
Redfishing was great in October. Looks like that will continue into November. Clients are still catching good numbers of reds in and over the slot.
Tarpon fishing had a burst the last 2 weeks, but with this cold front today, I'm not sure. The wind is suppose to blow hard the next 2 days.
The seatrout fishing is a little slow for this time of year. So I'm hoping that picks up!
While I was fishing yesterday we caught a few nice sharks so I might focus on that this week because they fight so well.
Snook have moved into the back country and I think they may be my main target this week with the new moon.
See ya on the water!
Greg

Sanibel Fishing Forecast:

Fishing 2 or 3 days after a cold front is best on the flats.
