Big Schools of Redfish

Capt. Darrin Covert
October 19, 2016
Sanibel - Saltwater Fishing Report

October is a great month to get out fishing. This time of year, you will find big schools of redfish are cruising along the beaches. Oversized fish are being caught in the 30-plus range, but there are also numerous schools of slot-sized fish to be had. Kingfish mackerel and bonita should be migrating south as the cold fronts approach. Tripletail will show on the crab pots as they are set for the season.

I have been fishing the waters of Pine Island, Sanibel Island, Captiva Island, and Cayo Costa for 3 decades. I specialize in light tackle fishing for Redfish, Trout, Snook, Shark & Tarpon. You will be fishing on a 24ft. Morgan, plenty of room to fish out of and plenty of shade, a very comfortable and dry ride. I provide all the fishing tackle you will be using, and fishing license. I can accommodate up to 6 people.
