Snook, jacks, and snapper in Sarasota

Sarasota - Saltwater Fishing Report
The red tide levels are the lowest that they have been for two months. Bait fish are showing up on the flats near the passes. Clients on Sarasota fishing charters did well fishing Robert's Bay and Little Sarasota Bay. Snook, jack crevelle, and mangrove snapper were caught under docks, around oyster bars, and at the mouths of creeks. Rapala plugs worked well early in the morning. As the sun came up, a switch to chumming with live pilchards proved to be the trick. We had our first cool front of the year move through. Hopefully, the fall run of Spanish mackerel and false albacore will get going soon.
