Everyone Knows it Windy

Capt. Mike Peppe

Sebastian - Saltwater Fishing Report

Over the last couple of weeks we have seen a lot of wind and dirty water conditions on all the flats. The Mullett run is on and jacks are smacking them pretty hard in the inlet. On the flats many Reds have been caught. Top water ,soft baits like the DOA CAL Jerkbait, Doa Shrimp and ass. live and dead baits.Decent Trout catches around the grass flats. In the Sebastian river on Wed the 23rd I caught 9 Snook up to 22", one small Red and 1 4# LM Bass. All these fish came on the 3" DOA shrimp in Nite Glow. The next month will be important as we begin to see the real effect of last winters cold. For me as far as I can see I have caught 30% of my normal Snook totals and hope to see this trend turn around.

Sebastian Fishing Forecast:

Fall usually means better Snook fishing but with last years kill we shall see. The cooling water will increase the Red activity and also numbers of Trout. Soon the ladyfish,Jacks and Blues will help the action to increase.
