St. Petersburg - Saltwater Fishing Report

We started out at the mangrove islands around Bay Pines and caught several nice sized redfish. As that bite slowed, we did a quick run about a mile out to the Gulf of Mexico looking for some shark, Spanish mackerel and kingfish action. We were not disappointed. In no time at all, we were hooking mackerel then reeling like crazy to get them to the boat before the sharks snagged them. It's great fun, especially for the kids, even though sometimes the shark wins. That kind of action continued the rest of the day, and we caught many mackerels and sharks. Catch of the day went to Jimmy's son, Michael. He hooked a 48" kingfish and battled it for a sporting 15 minutes before he landed it. That was some fish! Just another fantastic day on the water!
