Mack Attack

Capt. Ted Nesti
November 8, 2016
St. Petersburg - Saltwater Fishing Report

Fall is in the air and the Gulf Coast of Pinellas County has been invaded with spanish mackerel, king mackerel and sharks. As we headed out to the Gulf of Mexico, I stopped at my favorite grass flats to net some white bait (pilchards). After two casts with my net, the livewell was full and we we on our way. The wind had laid down so the ride out to our planned fishing hole 6 miles off shore was not too bumpy. As soon as we arrived, we knew we were in a sweet spot. From the first bait to the last it was FISH ON! The bite never slowed and for three hours we caught dozens of mackerel and king fish as well as several black-tip sharks. A great day fishing!
