Good Action, Great Conditions, BIG FISH

Capt. Nick Cremasco

Stuart - Saltwater Fishing Report

April 12, 2013

Well we scheduled 3 days of annual maintenance to get ready for the heat of the season. The preventative maintenance came a little earlier than scheduled but it was to allow us to flow right through the heart of Jensen Beach fishing charters without a hick-up. Unfortunately we were blow out for the 3 previous days preceding our scheduled maintenance and when the work was complete we were blow out of 3 more days of Stuart Fl fishing charters. Looking forward to getting out for the weekend and hope the fish are ready to cooperate for our Deep Sea Fishing charters.

April 13, 2013

Today we fished our Stuart fishing charter with Chris and his guest from Georgia. The day was a struggle. We faced nearly 3.5knots of current in 115ft of water making it impossible for the most part to bottom fish. We did manage to snag a small AJ and we caught a couple dolphin trolling. We tried to hit some spots inshore for the Vermillion snapper but the current proved too strong for the most part. We managed a few Lane and Vermillion Snapper some Porgies and a 9lb Bluefish.

We ended up going inshore to look for some Cobia and Permit but the weather went South quickly and we called it a day early on our Treasure Coast fishing charter.

Today we fished our Stuart charter for fishing with regulars Doug, Mike, Bill, and Carlo. We started the day trolling for dolphin and wahoo. We managed to miss a double header of sails and catch 4 mahi's pretty quick in the morning and then the bite just fell apart. We trolled for two more hours without a bite and tried some bottom fishing but the current had turned South from the previous day and the cold water shut the bite off.

We ran inshore to look for some Cobia and Permit and the action did not disappoint. We fought Permit up to 35lbs for as long as 50 minutes. But unfortunately today the fish won.

Today we cancelled our East Side tuna fishing charter because of weather. Hope to get out some time next week for some great Tuna fishing charters.

April 16, 2013

Today we fished with repeat customers Gary and his son Angelo. We started the day catching some live bait for bottom fishing and cobia fishing. After catching some bait we decided to go trolling for dolphin. We trolled for about 3 hours and caught a couple of bonito, 10 out of 14 dolphin bites with the biggest fish weighing around 11lbs. We also missed a sail when putting the spread back out after catching a triple header of dolphin. The guys decided they had their fill of mahi so we decided to look for some Cobia and Permit. We found a couple schools of 150-300 Permit ranging in size from 15-35lbs. Unfortunately we were unable to get the fish to cooperate and bite our offering of shrimp or crabs. With the lack of cooperation from the Permit we decided to look for some Cobia. We ended up finding a group of 3 fish to 35lbs but for some reason were unable to get them to bite a live baitfish, crab, shrimp or jig. Very disappointing but atleast we know we were in the right spot.

Going back to get them tomorrow.
