Stuart - Saltwater Fishing Report

April 13:
Today we had Jim Daugerty and his guest from CAT. We had excellent fishing today catching a total of 8 Cobia to 45lbs, some snapper and 5 Amberjack 3 of which we kept to about 30lbs.
Fishing for Cobia should continue to be great and don't forget Grouper season opens up May 1st!

April 14 (inshore):
Today Marshall ran a 3/4 day near shore charter. They started the morning catching a state limit of Cobia and then ran back inshore to catch and release 17 snook and tangle with some nice sized Flounder. Give us a call to book your inshore or offshore fishing charters!

April 14:
Mixed bag of snapper, triggerfish and Cobia today Dave, JR, and Eillene. We had a fun day keeping 15 snapper including Mangrove and Lane, triggerfish as well. A couple of 30-35lb Cobia as well. Great bottom fishing charters going on. Grouper season opens May 1st and I can't wait!

April 15:
Today we had to cut our day short with a fuel pump issue. But we managed to catch a couple of Cobia again to about 40lbs. Lane snapper, Triggerfish, Rudderfish and amberjack before coming home a little early!
All fixed and ready to go for tomorrow!
April 16:
Caught some Cobia to 35lbs and some snapper before the weather got us!
April 17:
We had a fun day today releasing Grouper, catching a variety of other bottom fish including a limit of Sea Bass, some Snapper, Amberjack and a 35lb Cobia. We also did some live bait and trolling for dolphin and caught a 1/2 dozen of them to 25lbs. A great day!

April 19:
Today we returned from a two day trip. We had some difficult fishing the first day catching Blackfin, Wahoo and some gaffer dolphin. We also pulled off a Blue Marlin. On our second day we chased some Tuna birds and had a Yellowfin get eaten by a shark and also broke the main line on a fish. We did manage to catch a limit of mutton, yellow eye and Grouper to bring home.

April 20:
Today we fished a scheduled 3/4 day that was cut short because of weather. We had anglers Gary, Ted and John. We managed to catch a state limit of Cobia that averaged around 30lbs. We also caught a couple of small jacks on our 1/2 day near coastal charter!

April 21:
We ended up cutting our day short because of slower fishing and weather issues in the afternoon. We caught a 1/2 dozen snapper, 3 Amberjack to 30lbs and a limit of lesser Amberjacks.
April 22:
Morning bite was good for Cobia but the afternoon bite has been very poor. We capitalized on the morning bite and caught a state limit of 4 Cobia. We also caught a few snapper and a couple of keeper snook!

April 24:
Great two day trip with Gary Gapinski, Mo and their guests. We had a great couple of days of fishing. We released a Blue Marlin estimated at a 175lbs. We also caught a 1/2 dozen gaffer mahis, some skipjack tuna and 3 Yellowfin tuna to 90lbs. On our 2nd day we spent some time bottom fishing and came home with a limit of bottom fish including queen snapper, yellow eye snapper, mystic grouper and a African Pompano!

April 25:
Today we started our morning looking for Cobia but it was a little too crowded on this pretty Saturday for my liking. So offshore we went. I put the kites up and we kite fished for the majority of the day. We caught 5 dolphin to 15lbs, Amberjack, cobia to 25lbs, Bonito and had some bad luck with a couple of sailfish. We broke a main line on one fish and had another get under the boat before we got the release. We ended the day inshore looking for some cobia again and we did catch another one in the afternoon.
