Stuart - Saltwater Fishing Report

For the past 3-4 weeks fishing out of the Stuart Florida inlet has been great especially on the bottom. We have been catching a limit of Gag Grouper on about 90% of the trips and we are catching some BIG ones too. The DayMaker has boated 28 Grouper of 20lbs and 10 over 30 in the past 3 weeks. Cobia action has been scattered but we are catching them while bottom fishing. A couple a week are making an appearance and the biggest was around 50lbs last week. Snapper, Amberjack, Almaco Jacks, and limits of Black Sea Bass are common place on a Stuart Florida full day of bottom fishing.

Lane, Vermillion and Mutton snapper fishing continues to be strong on the inshore reefs and artificial snags from 60-110ft. Chicken rigs with strips of squid and grunt plugs are working best. Use leaders 30-50ft in length for the BIG Mutton Snapper.
We have been catching a couple of dolphin everyday and we caught 10 today. Sails have been scattered but a bite a day is not uncommon and we did catch one trolling today. Most of the dolphin we have caught while bottom fishing have been from 15-20lbs. The 10 we caught today were on the smaller side.
We are looking forward to a spike in fishing on the upcoming full moon. According to log books this is a great full moon for catching a swordfish as well as some great early summer snapper fishing.
So grab your rods and go fishing or pick up your phone and give us a call.
