Bottom Fishing Good and Tuna on the East Side

Capt. Nick Cremasco
August 23, 2013
Stuart - Saltwater Fishing Report

August 11:

Today we fished with regulars from the Harbor Ridge Golf and Country Club. We enjoyed beautiful weather and good times. We caught a limit of Sea Bass, 4 Grouper and a couple Amberjack to 60lbs.

Looking forward to a little more bottom fishing tomorrow. Deep sea bottom fishing charters are as good as they get from November through July so give us a call to book your fishing charter.

August 12:

Today we enjoyed great South Florida fishing. We fished with regulars Bob and Doug and Bobs guest from Connecticut. The best thing going had been bottom fishing so that is what we focused our effort on. We ended up catching a limit of 20 BIG Sea Bass, a 25lb Genuine Red Snapper and 3 Grouper to 32lbs. It was a great day with plenty of action. Can't wait for Snapper season to open we have located a few.

August 13:

Today we fished with Keith and his guest on a Tuna fishing charter. We ran all through the area we had been catching them the previous week but only saw a few packs of birds and managed to only catch 1 out of 3 Yellowfin Tuna bites.

We ended up making a huge move and found a bunch of Big Yellowfin late but were limited on time and just couldn't get them to bite.

I know where I'm starting tomorrow though.

August 14:

Today we fished with Ronnie, Greg, Joe and Jarrett and enjoyed great weather and even better fishing. We caught 8 Blackfin Tuna to 15lbs, a 30Lb Bull Dolphin and 9 Yellowfin to 80lbs. Fishing has been great and it should continue as long as we can keep track of the migration.

August 16:

Today we had to cancel another tuna fishing charter because of bad weather. The radar was not looking good for us before departure.

August 17

Today we fished with Cal, Betty, Dale and Brown for a East Side of the Gulf Stream Tuna Charter. Our tuna fishing charter wasn't as good as the other day but there was 10 boats to battle with for the birds and tuna. We had the best day out of all the boats we talked to so we were all happy about that. We kept 7 Blackfin tuna to 15lbs, 2 Yellowfin that weighed 40 and 80lbs and we chaffed off a Blue Marlin on an 80lb tuna leader.

We saw some nice fish and I hope the season rolls through the September full moon like 4 years ago. BUT only time will tell and well know more after the full moon on the 20th. I have 3 buddies going over to fish after the full moon. If they get them, were going back. So stay tuned if you want to do a Stuart Fl tuna charter.
