Decent January Shaping Up for A Great February & March

Capt. Nick Cremasco
January 31, 2021
Stuart - Saltwater Fishing Report

January started out great with some decent cold fronts and fishing was good to excellent with our best day of sailfish bites and releases being 8-12. We also had multiple days catch 12-20 plus mahi-mahi and a stand out day catching 47 mahi-mahi. Tuna fishing was fair with some jumbo Blackfins. Bottom fishing was decent despite a lack of cobia and grouper season being closed. We had plenty of action with a variety of snapper including mutton, lane and vermillion snapper. Also the ever present Seabass, triggerfish and porgies made it to the cleaning table. When the weather allowed, we got out deep for some deep drops for tilefish and had respectable fishing for those deep water creatures. The latter part of January was mild and the pelagic fishing slowed but we have back-to-back heavy fronts pushing through now and I'm hoping that will complete the seesaw affect with the fish and they will post up here for the month of February and March for more consistent sailfish mahi-mahi and tuna action. We only have a few days left to book in February and March but April is wide open and Grouper season opens May 1st. Plan ahead as we are booking 4-6 weeks in advance. Look forward to speaking with you and taking you on a saltwater adventure aboard the DayMaker.

Give me a call to book a trip and be a part of the DayMaker family!
