Dinner and a Show - Dolphin and Sailfish

Capt. Nick Cremasco
March 19, 2013
Stuart - Saltwater Fishing Report

March 14:

Today we were scheduled to fish a deep sea Treasure Coast fishing charter but unfortunately the weather had other plans for us. The low pressure system off the Carolina's has continued to generate a ground swell that has plagued our area with high seas making it unsafe to transverse our inlet. We hope to be able to get out tomorrow and catch some fish on our Jensen Beach charter for fishing.

March 15:

Today our Stuart FL fishing charter was with Doug and his guest. We enjoyed decent to great weather. We caught 9 dolphin to 15lbs and released a sailfish which was a first for one of the anglers. Hopefully the good fishing continues. Dinner and a show is always a great thing on a South FL fishing charter.

March 16:

Today we fished with Mike Bird and his son Mike on Spring Break from college. We enjoyed great weather but unfortunately minimal action on our 3/4 day fishing charter. We ended up catching 5 small gaffer dolphin and some bonito on our Jensen Beach fishing charter. The water is still very unsettled inshore which is not allowing us to catch live bait or do any cobia or bottom fishing. Hopefully it will clean up soon from the ground swell and we can get back to diversifying our tactics to keep the rods bent.

March 17:

Today, we fished a 3/4 day fishing charter with Josh, McKenzie, Christian and Uncle Bob. We enjoyed great weather but slow fishing again. We did manage to have 4 dolphin bites catching 2 in the 10-15lb. range. We also caught a 20lb wahoo while on our trolling charter. We had a few bonito bites of which we caught and missed a sail late in the day. UGH! The coolest thing about our catch today is that the bigger dolphin had a 15" swordfish in its stomach completely intact. CRAZY! I trolled over some inshore spots hoping to mark some Cobia or Amberjack to jig for but the water quality continues to be very poor from the previous week's BIG ground swell.

March 18:

Today we fished a 3/4 day fishing charter Stuart FL with regulars Frank, Bill, Gerry and Rick. First off the weather man was WAY OFF. We were greeted by 20 knot winds and 4-6ft seas. We only managed to have 3 bites all day catching a 10 and 14lb. mahi and also another wahoo around 20lbs. Hopefully the transition in weather we are having will end this evening and bring us great Jensen Beach charter fishing for the coming days.
