Dolphin and Sailfish Provide Excellent Fishing Trips off Stuart

Capt. Nick Cremasco
May 8, 2013
Stuart - Saltwater Fishing Report

May 2:

Today our forecast was for SE 10knots and it blew a solid 20 out of the SE with brewing thunderstorms from the time we left the dock. We gave our Jensen Beach fishing charter an opportunity to succeed but the weather prevailed. Lightning, high seas and pouring rain forced us back to the dock by 8:30

May 3:

Today the weather plagued us again. Lighting storms kept us at the dock and a BIG swell out of the NE has developed. Chances are we will not be able to go tomorrow either.

May 4:

Today we enjoyed great charter fishing with our group from Georgia. We caught 17 Dolphin that we kept up to 22lbs. We also released a sail which was our anglers first. Spring fishing is heating up and you need to get in on some great charter fishing now. Call to book your trip for dolphin, Grouper and sailfish.

May 5:

Today we enjoyed decent fishing despite a misguided forecast. The marine forecast was for 5-10 and it blew 15-20 out of the NW. We enjoyed decent fishing catching 9 dolphin and a Grouper out of 4 bites we had on the bottom. We also caught a small blackfin tuna. The big swell from the NE has fouled up the bottom and generated a south current out to 300ft. No good for bottom fishing. Hope the conditions change soon.

Today was a great day of Stuart FL fishing charters. We caught a total of 24 Dolphin to 30lbs. We kept 17 out of the 24 Mahi we caught today with a handful of the fish being great quality. Look for great dolphin fishing charters to continue for the coming weeks.

May 7:

Today we fished a 3/4 day with Brian and Bobby. We caught 8 Mahi all around 10-15lbs and released a sail out of 5 bites. During the Spring we troll a large ballyhoo with a big skirt and hook for monster dolphin and blue marlin. But today the pesky sailfish wanted that bait and it is nearly impossible to hook these fish. That was the case today too. Tomorrow is another day.
