Epic Fishing after Cold Front

Capt. Nick Cremasco
February 19, 2013
Stuart - Saltwater Fishing Report

Thursday, February 14, 2013:

Valentine's Day cancellation. Rain, rain go away. Today a front was coming through and it rained cats and dogs all day. We cancelled our charter with Doug and his son and look forward to getting them back out.

Friday Morning, February 15, 2013:

Morning half-day Treasure coast charter cancelled. Today we cancelled our fishing trip with Joe and his grandsons because of weather left over from the passing front.

Friday Afternoon, February 15, 2013:

Fishing stinks. Today we fished an afternoon 1/2 and boy did it suck. We started the day kite fishing but the kites didn't last long with the rain. So we decided to troll and had no bites. We switched to bottom fishing and still had no bites. Back to trolling and we pulled a bonito off. Hope this BIG cold front this weekend changes things.

Saturday, February 16, 2013:

Fishing still slow but we caught a couple DayMakers. Today our deep sea fishing charter was with Brian, Charlotte, Kim and Jim. We started our day trolling for dolphin and sails. We had no action other than Bonito. We tried some bottom fishing only to catch a 25lb. Amberjack. We decided as the wind picked up to 20+ knots out of the West to go look for Cobia. We were able to catch a handful to 45lb. before calling it a day.

NNE 25-30 knot and freezing. Today we cancelled our charter because of NNE 25-30knot winds.

Monday, February 18, 2013:

EPIC couple of hours of fishing today after cold front.

Today we fished with Bob Cartelli, his sons and grandson. We experienced clocking wind from the North to the East very early on this morning. But despite the washer machine conditions the fishing was great. We started fishing at 8:40 after looking for bait and having no luck. We quickly caught and released 5 out of 8 sail bites and caught 8 dolphin (7 which we kept). We were done fishing by 10:40. A great couple of hours of South Florida fishing.
