Stuart - Saltwater Fishing Report

April 7:
Tonight we gave a seminar on fishing for Yellowfin Tuna at the Stuart Whites Tackle. We had a record breaking turnout of 158 people. Awesome giveaways from some of our sponsors as well we had a raffle for a full day charter aboard the DayMaker.
Thanks Maui Jim and Engel Coolers for being a part of this great event!

April 8:
Today we set out to catch some mahis for Cliff and his guest. We didn't catch many but the two we did were nice ones. We caught a pair of 25lb Bull Dolphin. We also caught a 1/2 dozen bonito trolling too.
We spent a 1/2 hour bottom fishing and caught 1/2 dozen Snapper for the fryer. Spent the end of the day looking for Cobia but did not find any today!

April 9:
Today our fishing charter was with John and Jeannie. We had decent action in the morning but things fizzled out by 2pm on our Stuart Fl deep sea fishing trip.
6-10 on Mahis let a couple go
Kings, bonito, AJS, rudders all on the troll.
Made a 3 drops and caught 2 more rudders and a bigger AJ!
Looking forward to tmrw and some more beautiful weather and Rod bending!

April 10:
Today we fished our deep sea charter with Thomas, Adrian and John for a full day fishing charter. We started out looking for Cobia and caught 2 out of 5 bites that we had. After the bites slowed we ran offshore and trolled, caught a couple of mahi to 12lbs and some bonito as well. Ended the day doing some bottom fishing. Caught a couple of 40-60lb Amberjacks and 1/2 dozen snapper for the fryer as well. Great day and some sore muscles for these guys!

April 11:
Today was our first tuna trip of the season on the boat we leased for tuna trips this year. We had fair fishing. We caught 4 Yellowfin from 40-60lbs and some blackfin and skipjack tuna. We also battled a 100lb fish for 45 minutes before she chaffed thru the leader 5 feet out of gafff range!

April 12:
Today we fished with Nick, Ron and Harley. The goal was to try to catch a sailfish. Havent seen one in two weeks so we had our work cut out for us. But with Harleys son looking over us today we were able to catch a couple of sailfish, the first and second ever for Harley. A memorable day with smiles and hopefully something that he will always remember on what was his sons birthday today.
