Up and Down fishing that's the only way to describe it

Capt. Nick Cremasco

Stuart - Saltwater Fishing Report

Fishing for the past week out of the Stuart inlet can be classified as up and down or hit or miss. For a couple of days water on the bottom has been freezing 55* (thats COLD) And its been hard to give away a bait of any kind. This has affected the surface fishing too!

But for the past couple of days with the East and SE wind things have changed for the better. Fishing on the bottom has started to show improvement with bites from Snapper, SeaBass and Amberjack. If the current falls out just another knot things could get really good preceeding the next full moon.

Pelagic fishing has improved too. 1-3 encounters a day with Sails is common the last couple of days capped off with a 7 fish day yesterday out of 9 bites while live baiting with a kite. Black fin Tuna have been around push button hill and kings are starting to show up around the bait schools and along the shallow reefs.

Bait continues to be present north and south of the inlet along the beach.
