Stuart - Saltwater Fishing Report

April 17:
Ridiculous weather continues to pound the east coast with a giant NE swell and 15-25knots of NE wind. We cancelled our overnight East Side Tuna trip because of the weather!

Will it ever end?
April 15:
Today we fished a 3/4 day charter with Kyle and his buddies from Kissimmee Florida. We started the day looking for Cobia but the ground swell that started over night seemed to make the fish disappear. We ran off and did some bottom fishing to bend the rod and caught a nice sized black grouper as well as a couple of Amberjacks and a limit of Lesser Ambejack. We also had decent action trolling catching a 1/2 dozen bonito and 5 decent mahis!

April 14:
Today we were supposed to run to the east side on mikes hydra sport and do some tuna fishing. The forecast outside of 60 miles however was not good so we elected to fish locally. We had a decent morning catching a state limit of 3 Cobia to 35lbs (pictured in the middle). We then ran offshore and trolled for dolphin however we only managed a sailfish bite which we pulled off. Decided to do some bottom fishing and we caught Amberjack, Almaco Jack and lesser amberjack. We also lost a nice Cobia in the 30lb class close to the boat in federal waters. Fun day and we beat the weather home as well!

April 13:
Today we had regular customer Jimmy Ray and his guest Kathy and Chris. We enjoyed some beautiful weather and some decent fishing on our offshore charter. We caught snapper, a couple red grouper, Cobia, Sea Bass, Amberjack, Kingfish, Lesser Amberjack, plenty of Bonito and Kathy released her first ever sailfish!
Way to go Kathy!
April 12:
We had a fun day today with regular clients from FPL. We caught 5 decent mahi to 22lbs and 1 Cobia in the 20lb class as well. We had a few other Cobia bites but unfortunately luck wasn't on our side!
Plenty of meat for our anglers though on their trolling charter for mahi!

April 11:
We cancelled our double 1/2 day yesterday and sadly a boat capsized in our inlet and 3 out of the 4 people lost their life. Discretion is the better part of Valor!
Prayers for this family to recover from this tragic accident!
