Great Fishing Offshore and Inshore

Capt. Nick Cremasco
March 29, 2016
Stuart - Saltwater Fishing Report

March 28:

I fished a 3/4 day deep sea fishing charter today and we had a great day with some quality fish and a good variety as well. We started the day catching a Cobia while we were catching bait in the morning. After no more bites in 45 minutes we ran off and put the kites up. While kite fishing we caught a 30lb bull dolphin and had a 40lb Cobia chase a goggle eye around before giving up on his free meal! The wind fell out so we bump trolled some live baits and caught 3 out of 5 more mahis in the 6-10lb range and unfortunately lost a 25lb Cow dolphin. We also caught a shark and some banded rudder fish while live bait fishing on a current edge. After the bite slowed we went bottom fishing and caught a couple of Amberjack to 50lbs and released some lesser amberjacks as well!

Ended the day looking for Cobia but didn't see any just messed with some sharks!

Marshall reported caching 15 snook fishing in the river today along with some spinner sharks, a pompano and a bunch of jacks.

HAPPY EASTER TO ALL OF OUR FRIENDS, FAMILY, CUSTOMERS NEW AND OLD!

I took the day off today to spend with the family for the Holiday! Marshall fished a 5 hour trip in the river and reported decent fishing catching some nice sized Cubera and Mangrove snapper, some snook and plenty of jacks!

March 26:

Today we fished a double 1/2 deep sea charter. Our morning group wanted to strictly troll and and it was very poor for the entire fleet! The oil slick conditions and hundreds of boats fishing on the Holiday weekend made things a challenge! We had 1 mahi bite trolling in the morning and caught him. We caught a few sea bass, snapper and a jack to wrap the morning up. We even found a 20ft tree covered in barnacles with nothing on it.

Our afternoon trip I decided to go right to bottom fishing for snapper to hopefully take some pressure off. We caught. Dozen snapper, 5 triggerfish and some sea bass! After having some dinner in the box and the wind starting to breeze up we decided to troll. We caught a kingfish, bonito, and a couple of mahis to 22lbs!

Marshal fished a couple of 1/2 days today and much like the offshore bite the morning was slower than the afternoon. His clients caught a couple snook and a pile of jacks in the morning and in the afternoon they caught a handful of snook, a sweet redfish, a flounder and some croakers!

March 25:

Today we had Mark and his wife for a scheduled full day dolphin charter! We started out the morning fishing for Cobia without any luck! We slid offshore and started trolling for dolphin. We caught a pair of mahi mahi right away! Unfortunately the bite didn't hold pace and we decided to do some bottom fishing for snapper! We caught a limit of 20 snapper to go along with their nice mahi catch!

Fish tacos for days!
