Stuart - Saltwater Fishing Report
Fishing here in the Stuart area has been best from third hour of incoming to second hour of outgoing tides south, around the inlet. A wide variety to choose from including lane, mutton, and mangrove snappers, jacks, snook, black margates, bonefish, mackerel, pompano, and sheepshead to name a few.
The bridges continue to hold black drum to 8 lbs. and the largest pompano of the year to 4 lbs. Shrimp on trollrite jigs along with Capt. Joe's pompano jigs work great. More ladyfish on the Sailfish flats. Last year, this area yielded over 50 bonefish thru April. This year most bonefish have been in the crossroads off sandbars.
As the seas calm down, it's livebait time here on the Treasure Coast. Live greenies and pilchards on circle hooks will catch the bigger ones including snook, tarpon, jacks, sharks etc.
