Stuart - Saltwater Fishing Report

July 5:
We put in an attempt this morning at a local fishing charter Stuart Fl. But the weather got the best of some of our clients and we returned to the slip at 8:30 and called it a day.
July 6:
In light of yesterday's results we opted to reschedule our Stuart Fl fishing charter because of the weather forecast. Tomorrow is another day.
July 7:
Today, we fished with Kirt and his buddies from Stuart, FL. Our Jensen Beach charter started out trying to catch some bait for kite fishing for dolphin and sailfish. The water is still dirty from the lake discharge and bait was difficult to say the least. We had a cooler full of ballyhoo for trolling for dolphin and a well full of bait for a bottom fishing charter so off we went. We started trolling and immediately pulled off a sailfish and continued with bonito action for a couple hours.
We tried making some drops on the bottom but the bottom fishing has still not recovered from the cold water upwelling which started a couple days ago.
I decided we would go and look for Cobia inshore and try a 4th quarter hail Mary. The first spot I got sacked (lol) no bites! Next spot paid off big with 5 out of 7 Cobia in the boat in 45 minutes. We had 2 fish around 35 lbs. and the others around 15-20 lbs.

A great way to end the day and we did it with a couple of DayMakers.
Never Give Up!
