Stuart - Saltwater Fishing Report

To say the least the Sailfish season has not lived up to expectations but neither has the cold fronts and cooler weather that drives the fish South. Some big numbers of sails have occasionally been put up but there has been no big number consistency. You catch 10 sails 1 day, 2 the next then none then 1 and so on.
This weeks weather will be a true indicator if we have something to look forward to at all. We have caught 12 out of 20 sail bites in the last 5 trips and have been averaging a 1/2 dozen dolphin a day. The dolphin fishing has been the biggest surprise of the Winter. Numbers have been down with the Mahi but the size of the fish we are catching is like Spring time. We have caught a 1/2 dozen fish over 20 and a bunch of fish in the 15lb range. Our biggest mahi in the last week of charter fishing was a 49lb bull. CRAZY.
Hoping to have some great fishing this weekend with the passing fronts and settling North wind. The bait is finally starting to show off of Stuart for the first time all Winter. I hope big things are to come. Only time will tell...
